You didn’t choose to be a dementia carer. And the chances are you’ve had no special training. Nor did I. And looking back, there are lots of things I might have done better if I’d known more about dementia at the time.

I have no special qualifications – only the gradual accumulation of experience as Lena’s Alzheimers has moved from mild to advanced over the years. 

Your journey won’t be the same as ours, because dementia seems to affect everyone differently. But I hope these stories and suggestions will at least help you to understand that you’re not alone.
